Sydney Wells has been blind ever since an accident took her
sight at the age of 5. Now, many years
later, she undergoes a second transplant operation in the hopes that her
eyesight is restored. After the
procedure, all of the tests show that it was successful; however, after her
vision begins to clear, Sydney
begins to see things that others do not.
Her doctors are convinced she is merely suffering from a disorder as she
adapts to sight after so many years. But
Sydney isn’t
convinced and begins to suspect that she is seeing people and things from the
other side…
I have yet to see the original movie this was based on so
this review is only on the film itself and not on the adaptation. That being said, I found it to be a rather
enjoyable movie. I first saw this when
it was released on DVD and enjoyed it then.
Watching it again today I still felt the same way.
Directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud, The Eye stars Jessica Alba as Sydney
Wells. Alessandro Nivola and Parker
Posey costar in this supernatural thriller.
