Art Models 7 Book Review!

art models 7

As any artist can tell you, finding good reference photos can be a rather daunting task. Thankfully, the internet has provided a multitude of resources with stock artists posting several images online available for artists to use. Many of the excellent poses come at a cost and to compile a collection of these can be very expensive, especially for the starting artist. To find a book with excellent poses is nearly impossible especially for those that wish to draw or paint action poses.

And then I found Art Models 7: Dynamic Figures for the Visual Arts.

I stumbled upon this book merely by coincidence as I was looking for new books to review and decided to hit the art section instead. When I found this book I had to review it.

Art Models 7 isn’t just a collection of static everyday poses. It consists of a multitude of photographs shown from various angles including several close up shots. The book includes over 100 poses of male and females of all body types shown in 28 different categories (i.e. standing, sitting, jumping, etc). Included in your purchase is a companion disc with alternate views loaded in a 24 point rotation with a resolution up to 20 megapixels. And the best part, these images are royalty free for the traditional artist.

Whether you are just starting out as an artist or have been creating for years, you will find this book to be a must-have for your reference collection.
