Ewan McGregor stars as Martin Bells, a mild mannered law
student finishing up his final semester at college. Needing some extra money, Martin takes a job
as a night watchman at the Forensic Medicine building. At the same time, a serial killer is loose
within the city killing women. As Martin
adapts to his new job, he begins to witness strange occurrences at the morgue
that are inexplicably linked to the serial murders. As speculation mounts that Martin is the
killer he must try to determine who is trying to frame him and why.
Nightwatch is an American version of the Danish film titled Nattevagten written and directed by the
same man, Ole Bornedal. Though I have
yet to see the Danish version, I absolutely adore the American one. Co-starring Nick Nolte, Josh Brolin, Patricia
Arquette and Brad Dourif, Nightwatch
is an excellent little thriller that will leave you guessing until the end as
to what will happen next.
