The Haunter – Movie Review!

The ghost of a teenager who died years ago reaches out to the land of the living in order to save someone from suffering her same fate.

Directed by Vincenzo Natali, The Haunter stars Abigail Breslin as Lisa, a ghost who is forced to live the same day over and over again; the day before her 16th birthday.  Much in the vein of Groundhog Day, Lisa is the only one in her family who knows that the day is repeating itself.  After several frustrating days Lisa begins to hear and see strange things in the house and begins to suspect she is being haunted by a living girl.  It doesn’t take her long to discover that something far more sinister is taking place and she is forced to choose: save her family, or save a stranger from suffering her same fate.

This movie was a little gem that popped up in my Netflix queue and I have say, most days it is scary how well they know my taste in films.  Stephen McHattie, David Hewlett and Eleanor Zichy co-stay in the supernatural thriller that will keep you glued to the screen all the way to the very end.
