Ahhh finally…some good old fashioned ‘80’s horror! Originally released in April 1989 under the
title House III: the Horror Show, Lance
Henriksen and Brion James star in this supernatural slasher film about a serial
killer who is sentenced to die via electrocution yet is transformed into electrical
energy instead. Seeking revenge against
the man who put him in jail, Max Jenke, aka Meat Cleaver Max, haunts the house
that Detective McCarthy lives in. Sound
familiar? The plot is very close to Wes
Craven’s movie Shocker that was
released later the same year.
This movie entails everything that I love about horror from
that era. Critics panned it as being too
gory and surrealistic but I find that is part of the charm. If you are a fan of horror for what it truly
is, this is a definite fun watch for you.
