Movie Review! Ultraviolet

After a global outbreak of a highly contagious, genetically engineered virus nearly decimated the populace, the Archministry has taken control of the government in an effort to contain the virus by locating and exterminating the infected.  Milla Jovovich stars as Violet Song Jat Shariff, a hemophage who has gone underground and is working for the resistance movement.  After infiltrating a government facility, Violet steals a weapon that was created to annihilate all hemophages.  When she discovers that the weapon is in fact a young boy, Violet double crosses the resistance and vows to protect the boy at all costs.

Written and directed by Kurt Wimmer, Ultraviolet is pure eye candy with a little bit of plot thrown in.  Every scene is masterfully coordinated and the viewer is left in awe over the colors, action sequences, and, of course, the stunning Milla.  Nick Chinlund costars as Ferdinand Daxus with William Fichtner, and Cameron Bright.  If you have somehow missed this movie over the years, I recommend picking it up if for no other reason than the special effects.  Don’t expect an amazing plot or dialogue sequence.  This movie is just a fun romp that demands to be seen.
