31 Days of Horror! In Fear

While on their way to spend time with friends at a festival, Tom and Lucy decide to spend the night at a remote hotel on the way for a romantic evening together.  Getting to the hotel proves to be more difficult than it seems and they soon discover they are trapped within a maze.  Being lost is the least of their concerns.  As the sun disappears and they drive seemingly in circles, they are being taunted by an unknown assailant.

Though this movie is a bit slower for most, the dynamic between the two characters is genuine.  Anyone who has ever been lost out in the middle of nowhere can attest to that fear alone (while watching the gas slowly disappear on the gauge), let alone having an unknown person or persons stalk you in the dark. 

For me, I was reminded a lot of the original movie The Hitcher.  Why is this person or persons doing this to the couple?  What is their motive?  Is it completely random or is it premeditated?  And at the end we are reminded that sometimes, you just don't know and that is ok.
