31 Days of Horror! Pernicious

When three young Americans arrive in Thailand to work for the summer, they are amazed at the house they are to stay in.  As they explore the old home, they also unwittingly unleash an evil spirit that has been trapped within.

Categorized as a B-movie on Netflix, I think this one has received a lot of negativity that is misplaced.  No, it is not phenomenal.  It's a B-movie.  That description alone should warn you to not expect the best Hollywood has to offer.  That being said, it shines at the top of the pile of B-movies in a lot of respects.  Namely, the acting isn't all that terrible.  It is a little heavy on the music and the blood is in perfect line with Asian splatter-gore and a mite bit overdone.  But otherwise, the story is solid.  Of course, every B-film could use improvement but at least with this one, you may be entertained in the interim.
