31 Days of Horror! Rites of Spring

Every year, young girls go missing the state without ever being found.  Two young girls are kidnapped at the beginning of the movie and are taken to a remote farm where they are help captive in a barn.  But wait, that's not what the movie is about.  It's about a husband and wife who plot with another man to kidnap a young girl to ransom for millions of dollars.  But wait, that's not it either...the movie is about a supernatural being that is summoned every spring with ritual sacrifices to bring about a bountiful crop...But wait!  There's more!

Confused?

Take the plots of about five different movies and you have the basic premise behind Rites of Spring.  Isolating but one of them would have made a decent movie.  Combining all of them in the manner in which it was filmed and the movie will run around in circles much the way our heroine did throughout the course of the film.  In the end, I think they may have been going for the feeling of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and fell flat akin to the movie Jeepers Creepers.  Take it or leave it...(this reviewer is definitely leaving it).
