31 Days of Horror! Tales From the Darkside: The Movie

Flashback to the late '80's and the early '90's when horror shorts in anthology style were all the rage.  With movies like Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt, Cat's Eye, and Tales From the Darkside, horror junkies were given multiple tales of the macabre all within one ticket price.  Today's pick was a walk down memory lane as I re-watched this movie to include in this year's 31 Days of Horror.

As was common, the movie has a wrap-a-round story that ties the rest of the tales together.  A little boy is held captive by a witch who intends to cook him and serve him as the main course at her dinner party.  In order to stall the inevitable, he begins reading some stories from a book she gave him.

Christian Slater,  Julianne Moore, James Remar, Deborah Harry, and Steve Buscemi are just some of the names of the stars within.  If you have been living under a rock and haven't seen this movie yet, please do so.  Dated special effects aside, this movie is still fun to watch and has great story-telling appeal.  An excellent addition for my countdown to Halloween.
