Movie Review! Hardware

When Mo returns to town from leave, he is in search of a gift for his girlfriend who is also an sculptor.  Needing something special for her, he intercepts the parts of a robot found in the wasteland by a scavenger.  Keeping the head and selling the rest, he gives the head to her as a present.  Unbeknownst to both of them, the head is still active and capable of self-repair.  While they sleep, it repairs itself using parts of her other metal sculptures.   Doing what the robot does best, it starts killing everyone.

Filled with political commentary on fascism and the populace's passivity, the movie is a pretty bleak representation of one possible future.  Visually, it has some pretty nice shots but the movie is also heavy on symbolism and isn't very cohesive in bringing them all together.  Overall, not a bad movie and perfect for a rainy day.
