Aliens from another galaxy invade earth in the near future and confine the inhabitants to their homes or suffer the penalty of incineration. Comprised solely of robots, the alien invaders install implants into the human population to better monitor, and control, them. When a group of kids temporarily disable their implants by accident, they begin a quest to find one boy's father (and of course just be free for an evening). When their night out is discovered, they become embroiled in a quest to save their town, and ultimately all of earth.
This movie is definitely made for teenagers. Gillian Anderson and Ben Kingsley co-star along side the younger cast. I thought the movie started off strong yet seemed to fall apart with several plot holes somewhere in the middle. Then ending was predictable and a bit rushed leaving the viewer to forgive quite a bit. Overall this was still a fun movie and a recommend for the family that loves sci-fi.
