Movie Review! Atomic Blonde

It seems like forever since I have watched a really good spy movie (the last Bond movie may be it).  You know, the ones that introduce you to the suave, sophisticated spy who looks, acts, and dresses with class and style, speaks multiple languages, is incredibly intelligent, and can kill you with any object found in the room and walk away with poise.  Charlize Theron definitely delivers on this and so much more in Atomic Blonde.

Based on a graphic novel, The Coldest City, the movie is set in 1989 days before the fall of the Berlin Wall.  The story follows our heroine, an MI6 agent, Lorraine Broughton, who is sent in to claim the body of a deceased agent, recover a list of names he had of every active KGB agent, and assassinate the double agent named Satchel.  But, as with all great spy movies, things do not always go as planned and it isn't long before Lorraine is fighting her way across Berlin to get some answers.

Packed with almost non-stop action and intrigue, this movie will keep you guessing as to the identity of Satchel (not to mention how Broughton makes it out alive).  The soundtrack is phenomenal and becomes an essential part of the story instead of just being background noise. Overall, I give this movie a solid 10 stars plus and will recommend it to everyone I meet for a very long time.  It's still playing in most theaters so I recommend you get out there to see it.  Once on DVD, this movie will definitely be a keeper for multiple viewing.
