31 Days of Horror! Deathgasm

After watching Gerald's Game, I knew there wouldn't be much that could compete.  Rather than set myself up to hate a movie, I decided to watch a potentially (and intentionally) bad horror comedy instead.  Enter: Deathgasm.

When Brodie's mother is incarcerated and he is sent to live with relatives, he never imagined how boring suburban life could be.  Obsessed with heavy metal music, he soon finds some kindred spirits and they form a band.  When they come across sheet music from one of their death metal legends, they have no idea it's actually a dark hymn designed to summon demons.  It isn't until they play the music and the town is besieged that they realize their actions and come together to save their town.

And that's it in a nutshell.  What the movie lacks in deep plot development (and are you really expecting a deeper plot line with a title like Deathgasm?) it makes up for in cheesy effects, and really bad one liners and comedy sketches.

Overall, this movie was not a waste of time and had me laughing a few times.  Definitely a fun romp when you are bored and want something light in your horror.
