31 Days of Horror! 13 Sins

A cryptic phone call sets off a dangerous game of risks for Elliot, a down-on-his luck salesman. The game promises increasing rewards for completing 13 tasks, each more sinister than the last.
Elliot isn't having the best of luck lately.  As he is planning his wedding and preparing for his first child, he is struck with a string of bad luck that just never seems to end.  One night, as he's sitting at a red light being pestered by a fly, he receives a phone call offering him $1000 to kill the fly.  Seems too good to be true, right?  But the reward is legitimate.  And subsequent phone calls offer him much, much more.

13 Sins is a pretty decent film that pokes fun at itself often.  Elliot isn't what you expect and as the challenges escalate, he does come up with some imaginative ways to complete them with little harm to others or himself.  I've always enjoyed a little levity with my horror and this movie delivers it flawlessly without compromising the integrity of the action within.

There is a lot of story within but I never felt as though it stopped the overall flow of the movie and helped add depth to what could otherwise be a very flat character.  It is an older movie and one that slipped by me way back when.  If you haven't seen it yet, I do recommend giving it a whirl.
