When I first saw the trailer for this prior to its release in the theaters, I remember being really excited for it. I've always love seeing darker interpretations on already dark fairy tales. Sadly, I missed its release and almost forgot about it. So it was a very happy surprise when it showed up in the mail from Netflix. (And yes...I have both the DVD and streaming service 😁).
I can't say that I was disappointed in it. I absolutely love Alice Krige and will watch pretty much anything with her in it. Sophia Lillis also did a fine job. The movie just wasn't what I expected. Still, overall, it was not a waste of time and the story was solid.
