I have been hearing the buzz about this movie since it was released and I decided to finally give it a try this week. After a long week, it's nice to pop in a mindless thriller to just unwind.
Intrusion is a new thriller by Adam Salky and follows the story of a young couple who move into a new home they built in a small town. One night they return home to find their house had been ransacked. With nothing missing but their cell phones, they are left with more questions as to why they were targeted.
Meera is still shaken, so her husband installs security cameras and other safety features to help her feel safe. And also installs a tracking app on their new cell phones. It isn't long before the intruders return and Meera is faced with a different side of her husband as he defends their home.
One of the great things about thrillers is their formulaic structure. This movie is no different as Meera begins her own investigation into the intruders and begins discovering secrets of her husband. That's not to say this movie isn't lacking quite a bit. It quickly devolves and may have been delivered better had they instilled a small amount of intelligence into Meera. The ending is also anticlimactic as they really didn't do much with the 'shadow' side of Henry.
Overall, I still rate this high on entertainment value alone.
