31 Days of Horror! Till Death

Megan Fox stars as Emma in this thriller by S.K. Dale.  The story begins as Emma breaks off the affair she has been having with her husband's associate.  On the night of her anniversary dinner, her husband, Mark, takes her to their secluded lake house to celebrate eleven years.  When she awakens in the morning, she finds herself shackled to her husband who promptly kills himself.  That becomes the least of her concerns when she realizes Mark has stripped the house of any means to break the lock, and escape.  But that's not all when her past suddenly arrives.

When I first read the description, I couldn't help but think of Gerald's Game by Stephen King. The heroine is in a similar predicament with the handcuffs, dead husband, and isolation.  Emma certainly has the upper hand in this tale, however, being free from the bed with many opportunities to get herself free that she just doesn't think of.  But then again, the movie would end a whole lot quicker wouldn't it?

Aside from the obvious solution that she doesn't think of until much later in the film, I couldn't help but continue to watch due to the stupidity of the rest of the characters as they search for her in an empty house, on an isolated property, with snow falling.  Because, let's face it, it is so easy to hide a blood trail through a foot of snow when you're dragging a corpse behind you.

Nevertheless, it was entertaining and a definite time waster.  I've watched far worse.
