Every so often, a film comes along that doesn’t just scare you—it unsettles you on a deeper, spiritual level. A Dark Song is one of those rare and haunting experiences that lingers long after the credits roll.
Movie Description:
Sophia has rented a house in the middle of nowhere, paying extra to ensure no questions are asked. Her only companion is Michael Solomon, an occultist who must help her contact her deceased son through a grueling ritual.
My Review:
This movie is excellent on all levels. Yes, it’s a slow burn—but it’s also a powerful, haunting exploration of grief, faith, and the extremes a mother will go through for love. The performances are raw and deeply human, and the atmosphere is thick with tension and emotional weight.
You’ll love and hate the characters in equal measure, and by the end, you might even find your own faith tested. Beautifully done.
